Meet Dr. Joseph Ciccio

Dr. Joseph Ciccio, a board-certified orthodontist, has been creating beautiful smiles in the New York City and Westchester areas for more than 30 years.

Experienced in all areas of orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, Dr. Ciccio sees a mix of adult and pediatric patients. He specializes in a full range of advanced techniques to enhance facial aesthetics, correct dental occlusion, and improve oral function. Dr. Ciccio prides himself on providing the most competent care with a warm, down-to-earth approach.

Columbia is in Dr. Ciccio’s blood. He has earned three degrees from the university: a BS in engineering, a Doctorate in Dental Medicine, and a certificate in orthodontics (honors concentration). In 2006, he was awarded the university’s Alumni Medal, for service to Columbia.

Dr. Ciccio has taught orthodontics at the Columbia School of Dental Medicine for more than 30 years. He lectures overseas on clinical orthodontics and advanced orthodontic techniques. As an assistant professor, Dr. Ciccio has served as a mentor to hundreds of orthodontists who now practice and teach all over the world. In 2007, Dr. Ciccio was honored with the Allen J. Formicola Voluntary Teaching Award, which made him the first orthodontist ever to receive this award.

Dr. Ciccio was one of the first orthodontists in the New York area to be trained in the Invisalign® technique. A member of the Invisalign Faculty, Dr. Ciccio teaches other orthodontists how to treat with the Invisalign appliance. He and his partner, Dr. Demarest, have successfully treated hundreds of patients using this advanced appliance.

Dr. Ciccio has been an active member of many professional societies and community organizations, including the American Association of Orthodontists, the New York Academy of Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Rotary Club, the Maxwell Institute, and the Little Baby Face Foundation. He was recently honored with membership in the prestigious American College of Dentists.

Dr. Ciccio resides in Irvington with his wife Denise, and his son Joey. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, skiing, landscaping, and working on his computers.
